Hokitika

I caught a bee that was stuck on the bus in my hood and managed to free it. I'm quite proud of my Ninja skills! Hokitika is alot nicer than i thought it would be. Very similar in terms of weather to Greymouth (very windy). I met up with Luca, one of the guys I met in Greymouth as we had arranged to stay in the same hostel. When I arrived we went to the beach to swim with Anisha who's one of our roommates (She's from Salt Lake City). It was cold and the waves were very very powerful. At even below waist height we were getting knocked off our feet by the sheer power of the waves. Also the waves carried pebbles with them which kinda hurt when they hit you in the ankles. Despite this it was still fun. Later on we went to sunset point to - (wait for it) watch the sunset! This was pretty cool. We then met up with this Swiss girl called Samantha and went to this place called glow worm dell which is a little wood filled with glowworms. It was incredible, like a forest of tiny little lights. Some of them seemed blue and some more green. Was truly magical. Too dark to take pictures though.
As I'm writing this I'm just about to catch a hitch to a campsite about 15km south of here where I'm going to camp on the lakeside for 1 night. Then I'm meeting back up with Luca at Fox Glacier and Yannick who I met in Christchurch. We were going to go to the Franz Joseph Glacier which is about 30km north of Fox but we accidentally booked a hostel at Fox so now we're going there!
